My name is Vinodhini Govindan, and I founded Moksha Funerals to help Hindu families navigate one of life’s most difficult moments with compassion, cultural understanding and dignity.
Before establishing Moksha Funerals, I worked as Regional Manager of Multicultural Funerals for Australia’s largest funeral service provider, supporting families from a wide range of cultural, religious and linguistic backgrounds across Sydney.
This experience gave me a deep understanding of Hindu funeral traditions, Hindu cremation services, witness insertion, repatriation and the importance of culturally appropriate funeral care.
Today, I combine that professional experience with a personal commitment to ensuring every family receives the guidance, respect & support they deserve.

Why I Founded Moksha Funerals
The word Moksha represents spiritual liberation and release in Hindu philosophy.
Throughout my career in the funeral industry, I witnessed first-hand the challenges many Hindu, Indian, Sri Lankan, Nepalese and Fijian Indian families faced when trying to find a funeral director who genuinely understood their cultural and religious traditions.
Families often needed more than someone to arrange a funeral.
